Find out if you have a warranty on your product. Apple offers a nifty checker to find out what your Apple warranty status is. AppleCare+ offers coverage options that mean a nominal fee for a cracked iPad screen. However, that coverage is limited to two incidents, so if your cracked iPad screen is out of warranty, you may have to seek help at a computer repair store that specializes in Apple products.
Hi. I bought an iPad mini about 18 months ago while I was on a J1 in New York before my final year of college. I live in Europe. Anyway, about 7 months ago I dropped it while studying and it cracked from the bottom left corner up towards the top right corner. It still worked perfectly until about 3 weeks ago. But now the touch screen is unresponsive in certain areas, which makes typing and touching buttons impossible in the areas affected by this.
More than likely the screen damage has caused it, and the drop could have caused some internal damage that has just taken time to manifest. The cracked screen also does not do the job it is supposed to do to protect the rest of the screen components underneath. I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple store to see about repair/replacement.
Has anyone dropped their iPad Pro (3rd gen), cracking the screen and it still works (but with a slightly wonky screen now, with a vertical magenta stripe on the side it impacted on the ground)? It works - I turned it off and powered it back up but did I do serious damage to it or could it be fixed?

There is a massive difference between the repairing charges of cracked iPad screens with and without an AppleCare warranty. For example, The screen repairing amount of iPad Pro 12.9 inch (4th generation) is usually $649, but if you have AppleCare, it will just cost $49. The price difference is also the same in the iPad Pro 12.9 inch (3rd generation). In the iPad Air, the cost of the screen repair with AppleCare is $49 while without it $249.
When you send your Apple iPad online for getting a screen replaced, they usually take 4-5 days to send you a temporary replacement. If you go to an offline store to get an iPad fixed, it will be free of cost, but you will have to pay any applicable taxes. You can also start a repair request on the Apple website. According to Apple, if your Apple iPad screen was broken due to an accident or abuse, then you will have to pay the full value. Still, although it is not cheap, it is better to go for the option of repairing so that you can bring your Apple iPad to a state close to new.
There are various third-parties Apple repair stores where repairing your broken iPad screen takes place, though they are not cheap. If you go to a non-Apple repair store to repair your cracked iPad screen, it will automatically void your warranty because Apple can tell if any non-Apple employee opens your device.
Though there are many DIY tutorials on the internet to follow to repair your cracked iPad screen, glass replacement kits are also available. Still, you should prefer leaving this task to professionals because it is not easy as it seems to be replacing the entire touch screen is easier than repairing the entire glass. After all, you will have to separate the glass from the touch screen, and then finally, with the help of glue, attach the new glass to the touch screen, that is a bit difficult. Using the DIY tutorial will also end your warranty with the Apple store, so it is better not to try such a tutorial.

Hi, I have an issue with an Ipad Mini 4, Last week it was shutting down by itself, flicking screen etc. And suddenly going into Recovery mode but with Black Screen (not Itunes Logo). Then I did a Restore to latest 13.5.1 iOS, and in the middle it sopped with error 4005. Ever Since the ipad wont turn on at ALL. Completly dead except DFU black screen. Itunes (tried on 1 Mojave Mac and 1 PC, new and old cables as well) and also in Finder on Catalina all after entering DFU recognize the ipad as Recovery, I start the process but always get error 4005 after a While. On the PC I managed to getter a better view of what was happening since the Win7 makes the connect disconnect noises when plugging a USB device. So I hear when the Ipad enters DFU, Itunes recognizes it. I start the restore process (also tried manually selecting 13.4.1 which is still signing) and itunes says, extracting, then preparing the Ipad for intalation, the I hear as the USB disconnects (ipad is rebooting exiting DFU i believe) and never hear the usb noise again, as if ipad never entered the part where it can start installing the IPSW. and after a while, I guess times out, error 4005. I feel as if the bootloader is damaged. Any Tool that can help fix it? Is there any hope for this Ipad? Thanks. Isaac 2ff7e9595c
